Backcountry Beer

21st Amendment Back in Black by walknboston on FlickrI love craft beer. And I love hiking (so do my friends). Yet, for some reason, I’ve never taken beer on a backpacking trip. Sure, I’ll pop open a bottle after a long day of hiking, fishing, or skiing, but I never thought to actually bring the brews with me. Of course, it makes perfect sense to stash a can of beer or two in your pack if you can handle it. This weekend I found a post on Backpacker.com about the best canned craft beers to bring with you on a hike. There are, I’m sure, many more great beers out there, but Backpacker has come up with a pretty nice list.

P.S. – Baxter Brewing, a new Maine beer company, is on the verge of releasing canned beers. Make sure you check it out!
