Today is Labor Day in the United States, a holiday set up to recognize and celebrate the people who make this country go: the workers. On the tail end of summer, with autumn creeping up, it’s a great time to take a much needed day of relaxation and escapism.
Here’s my advice for Labor Day 2012: Drop the legal pads, put down the iPads, step away from the computers, and hang up the cell phones. Take the day to reward yourself for work well done, and relax. Treat yourself to a movie. Have that cheeseburger you’ve been craving. Put the canoe on the water one last time.
Far too often, we forget that we work incredibly hard in this country (despite views to the contrary), and occasionally, we all deserve a break. On this Labor Day, whatever you do, enjoy it. And relax.
